About me

Some Information

Hi, I'm Nathan! (picture below)

I'm a lifestyle photographer primarily serving the Upstate New York Capital Region area, including Albany, Saratoga, Lake George, along with Southern Vermont, Bennington, Manchester, as well as, the Berkshires, Pittsfield, Williamstown, North Adams, Massachusetts and all areas in between.

First things first, I love photography and spending time with my family. You'll often see me capturing family events with my camera. As a father, I realize how fast kids grow up and how quickly all of us change. It's very important to me to preserve the memories of each stage in life. I love it when I capture that perfect expression or moment in time to preserve it forever. Have you ever discovered a photo or video decades later and realized just how easily those vivid details slipped from your memory?

Shooting Style

My shooting style is a hybrid of candid photos mixed with shots using simple direction.

For a wedding, event, or party, I believe one of the best ways to capture is on the sidelines where people don't even realize you're there. Candid shots of natural interaction, laughter, and people just being in the moment, is the best way to capture the personalities and natural beauty of everyone. However, time set aside for staged shots can produce some of the best looking, artistic, and dreamy photos. The use of ideal lighting and a perfectly angled face, casting shadows in all the right places, adds a level of depth and dimensionality that is hard to capture without deliberate manipulation. Correct positioning of the body, arms, legs and hands, all the way down to the fingers, makes all the difference. Not everyone feels comfortable or knows how to look natural for a photo, don't worry if that is you, with some simple directions I can guide you through that process. It is my goal to make everyone look their best in a natural way.

Life Change

The untimely passing of my father (pictured right) was the life changing event that led me into photography professionally. I came to the hard realization that a great photo may be one of the most cherished things you have left of a loved one. A day will come when certain photos will become invaluable to you. I've realized life is too short, tomorrow is not promised, so do what you love now. After spending 28 years in a successful IT career, I decided to take a leap and do exactly that. Getting out to photograph the world's beauty, people enjoying life, and being able to deliver lasting memories, brings me true satisfaction.
